Avital Horowitz - Week 11 - The Final Blog

The final blog. Most students have been looking forward to this and if I'm going to be honest, most of the time, I was one of those students, especially this semester because of the current event blogs. Although, being a student who loves writing, I am a little sad to see this year-round assignment come to an end.

If I'm going to be 100% truthful, I had no idea what I was going to write about for this blog, so I took that as an opportunity to write a reflection on this weekly assignment. In my opinion, last semesters blogs were much more enjoyable to write, and that was due to the absence of the current event blogs. Personally, I absolutely love creative writing, so when I was told we had a weekly creative writing assignment I was excited. Unfortunately though, I really suck at journalism and things like writing articles. I just find it boring to write about current events. I like writing with my creative mind. I find it easier to use my own tone while writing creatively rather than writing based on facts.

I would give the first semester blogging assignment five stars, because it provided good writing practice and it made us use our creative minds. If I had to rate the second semester blogging assignment, I would give it a two out of five stars because yes it allowed us to use our creative minds, but it was also just boring because the blogs started to become tedious and the current events just made writing each blog more of a chore rather than I fun year-round project.

What did you think about posting on blogger? Which semester did you like more?

  1. Personally, I enjoy both. I just really like the process of writing, it seems satisfying to me. While I don't really have a preference, I enjoy writing on current events and giving my own opinion on topics because I like the idea of debate.

  2. To me, creative writing is always more fun than writing about current events. As someone who is always thinking 24/7 writing is, in a sense, an outlet for me. Creative writing, and just being able to write down whatever is on my mind as opposed to having guidelines is always more fun for me. Overall, I did enjoy the blog projects a good amount.
