China Jet Crash
On Sunday, March 20, a China Eastern Airlines jet plane plunged downwards and crashed. The jet crashed on a mountainside, and there were 132 reported passengers on board. It is unknown why the jet crashed, and soon after the crash heavy rainfall on Tuesday, March 22, halted the search for remaining victims and the reasoning behind the crash. Because of the impact of the crash, the rainwater caused landslides which endangered crew rescue workers, and the forested terrain didn't help either. This wet weather was forecasted to last the entire rest of the week, so investigating will be a problem.
The flight itself was on route from the Southwest city of Kunming to Guangzhao which borders Hong Kong. At the time the Boeing jet would normally descend for landing, the jet suddenly crashed into a mountain. The severe damage to the aircraft would trouble further investigation into determining the cause of the crash. As China furthers its mission towards safety, China will launch a 2-week investigation on the incident, and it will contain regional air traffic control. The last commercial jet to crash in China was in 2010, so this unexpected tragedy was marked as an "emergency operation" by China.
Before the crash occurred, it was said that the jet was in safe conditions, passing all safety protocols and meeting "airworthiness" standards before take-off.
Is it possible that there was a hijacking? Or is it more likely that there was a mechanical malfunction in the Boeing jet? What do you think? How could or would this crash affect us in today’s world? Even though there are countless car crashes every single day in the world, plane crashes seem to take up much more of people’s attention. Why do you think this is so?

I don't know what caused this plane crash. It could be anything. These types of news stories scare me because hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of people fly on planes everyday and when you hear that one crashed it makes you more nervous that others could as well. I already am scared of planes crashing and these stories just add to that fear. I think that the reason plane crashes are a much bigger deal than car crashes is because planes can carry hundreds of people while cars carry way less. We can also determine the reasoning behind a car crash way easier than the reasons behind a plane crash.
