Solomon Holzhauer- Week 6- Why days off are needed
We are about to have 2 and a half days off plus the weekend, and when we get back soon enough we will be having spring break, these are much needed. It is the second semester which means it's closer to the end of Junior year and summer, therefore, we are having twice as much work and it is getting twice as hard. This makes everything more stressful and makes us stay up later to do our work which means every school day that passes by, we get more and more tired because of the amount of work and stress put on us and going to sleep late while waking up really early. This also makes it harder to learn because you want to fall asleep during every class period, therefore making it harder to pay attention. This is not healthy for the human body, so having a break like this is really needed and helpful to catch up on sleep and to get a break from all of this stress inducing school work. Not only do we have school and school work, there is also the after school activities and or sports that we are involved in which takes up more of our time. Lastly, as a Junior we take ACT and SAT and a lot of us go to a tutor or tutors to get better at the strategies so we can get the scores we want for certain colleges we are aiming for. This also takes up at least an hour every day to get our homework done from the tutors, plus the two hours at least a week we meet with our tutors.
Do you also agree these days off are needed? Is school making you sleepless?
I completely agree with you that these breaks are needed. I myself am still not getting this weekend off because of the play and Mock Trial, but I agree that we need these types of days off from school. This way we can catch up on sleep, be social outside of school, and take a breather.
ReplyDeleteBreaks are for sure needed. There's a reason we sleep, it's to rest up and recover for all of the energy we have exhausted throughout the day. We need breaks so we don't overburn or overwork ourselves; plus, having no breaks just means fatigue and less productivity.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree days off are needed! I miss the days where I only had an hour or two of homework. My friends and I are all very overworked. I have my AP classes, studying for SATs, voluntary classes, and more! My friend has even more work, she does an additional of fourteen hours of work during the school week! That does not even include her school day or homework!
ReplyDeleteBreaks are absolutely necessary. We sleep for a reason: to rest and recoup from all of the energy we've expended throughout the day. We need breaks so we don't overwork or burn out; also, not taking breaks leads to exhaustion and decreased productivity.
