Rosalie Weiss- Week 8- A PSA for Wordle Users

Like almost everyone I know, I am a daily Wordle player. I also dabble in the numerous Wordle variations, including Globle, Jewdle, and Nerdle. In a time where seemingly everyone is divided, daily games like these have forced us to put away our differences and come together through our collective solving of a common goal. Sadly, nothing is safe from the malice of humankind, as many individuals can’t help but ruin the one thing you have to look forward to every day. This heinous crime committed by said individuals is the act of spoiling.
I’m sure everyone has encountered spoilers at some point in their life, and whether it was for a book, movie, or a daily word game, these spoilers are never warranted or appreciated. Despite this fact, people continue to spoil. While some spoilers may come in the form of a cry for attention or in an attempt to be funny, they all stem from pure hatred of human joy and happiness. You cannot convince me that a good samaritan who genuinely cares for their neighbor would actively inhibit someone from enjoying something they love, all for their own amusement. The one thing people like less than being spoiled are the people who spoil, as the act of spoiling is commonly viewed as annoying and morally wrong.
So the next time you are playing wordle and feel the need to scream out the answer, don't. No one thinks it is funny. This is the reason why everybody hates you. ;)
What do you think? Should spoilers be punished? Do you spoil yourself?
I think spoilers are so annoying. I totally agree with everything you are saying and that spoils are more than just annoying. I feel as if people do spoilers only to get enjoyment for themselves. They get a sense of fulfillment by ruining others' enjoyment. It is very saddening to think that this is how people feel and do now.
ReplyDeleteI HATE spoilers! I don't understand why people feel the need to do something like this. It is honestly so hard to avoid Wordle spoilers. Every time I go to class, someone in front of me is playing it!
