Universal School Trip
In my school, DKJA, we have a school field trip called a "Shabbaton". It's named after a Jewish religious practice that's is done on the day of Saturday, or "Shabbat" (the day of rest). However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to go on this field trip last year, so I was only able to appreciate and experience the Shabbaton trip once in my high school life (so far); that's when I was a Freshman. Hopefully, the trip will resume next year when I'm a senior; honestly, that would be a nice senior gift: the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, the school has decided to actually do a field trip, just without the Shabbaton fun part. We'll be heading to Universal Orlando next Monday for one day (6 a.m to 10 p.m), and I think it's going to be pretty fun, but there are two problems on my mind.
Firstly, we decided which park we were going to head to, Universal Studios or Islands of Adventures. We all voted via google forms on google classroom, and surprisingly, Universal Studios won. Hopeful that Islands of Adventure would be the choice, I was confused and a little upset. I started asking students what they chose, and once I heard what they said I was a little frustrated. They all said nearly the same thing: they thought Universal Studios was the one with Harry Potter World. Islands of Adventure was indeed the one with Harry Potter World, Hulk, Spider-Man, and lots of other better rides. They got mixed up, but there was nothing about it that anyone could do. Nevertheless, it's still Universal, and it's got Rip-Ride-Rokit, so it's still going to be a blast, right?
My second problem has to do with the date of the trip, it's on March 21st. If that doesn't mean anything to you, that's probably because you don't go to a public school. That is the date of Spring Break for public schools here. Universal Studios is going to be absolutely jam-packed, so that's somewhat of an inconvenience. Hopefully, I'll be able to go on my favorite rides just once or twice though, right? Well, my favorite ride, "The Mummy", is currently under construction. It won't be open until late 2022 (December) or early 2023 (January), so there's no shot I'm getting on that. I'm just hoping I'll be able to get onto Rip-Ride-Rokit a couple of times before it gets too hot because of the Florida Sun.
By no means am I complaining at all, I still signed up to be on this awesome trip and experience. I know I'm going to have fun with my friends and the rollercoasters and simulations; I just wanted to say a couple of things that are going to slightly hinder my fullest possible experience. What inconveniences have you bumped into while planning or going on a trip? What's the worst that has happened?
I agree with you in that while Universal will be a good trip, there are many factors that will significantly limit how good the experience is. I think that many people that have not been to Universal at all before might have thought Islands of Adventure was some completely other theme park altogether, so they mistakenly said Universal Studios was the better choice. I have an annual pass to Universal this year and have been many times to the park, and still have never spent as much time in one day in Universal Studios as we are on this trip, meaning that hopefully there will be enough time to go on all the rides (multiple times) despite the large crowds.
