Hannah Shinder: Week 8- The Obsession With Wordle

Right now, everyone seems to be hooked on playing wordle. There is not only one type of wordle,  but many other social media users have created more and more replication with different ideas. For example, there is the jewdle which consists of different Jewish words, sayings, or actions. Whoever discovered and came up with the idea of wordle is literally so smart. I feel as if wordle is not only entertaining but also a type of education game. It gets the brain moving!

When I first heard about wordle, I said to myself “how stupid is this”. Little did I know that it is literally addicting. I can’t go a day without playing wordle. However, I get so frustrated when I cannot figure out what the word for that day is. I usually get it on the 4th try, but when I don’t get it all that day, I am so annoyed and frustrated. It’s almost like wordle is taking over my life since my mood is affected by how quickly or if I can figure out the word for that day.

Also, don’t you hate when someone spoils something? Well, with wordle people don’t know how to control themselves and keep their mouths shut. It bothers me so much when someone says the word or will say certain letters and where they are placed. When that happens, I literally want to tell them to keep it to themselves. It's like they are spoiling one of the best things you love to do so it’s so annoying.

Do you play wordle?

Comments

  1. I used to play wordle but now I think it's getting a little repetitive and boring. Also I got a new phone and with the new phone I lost all my old stats including my really long like month streak. So that put a damper on me wanting to play.

  2. I play wordle everyday and to be honest it is kind of crazy how this game has become such a common thing. Not only to kids and teens play it, but adults do it too. I totally agree with the spoiling point you made. I get so frustrated when somebody spoils the wordle for me because I lose the excitement of getting it right on my own.
