Adi Chaham week 19- Freezing Chocolate
A few days ago, I was in the mood to try something new to make but more importantly, I wanted to eat something that was both cold and sweet and wasn’t ice cream. After contemplating what I should make myself, I thought to myself, I have the most genius idea, I am going to make frozen chocolate, something I have never done before. Being the lazy person I am, I wasn’t going to melt chocolate and do things that would require me to wash the dishes after, so I just took a pack of Reese’s pieces butter cups with the wrapper and put it in the freezer.
For some unknown reason, I thought that it would be really tasty and I was super excited for them to freeze and eat them within 30-45 minutes. An hour passed, but the buttercups weren’t ready yet, so I placed them back in the freezer and waited about another 45 minutes.
Finally, they were frozen enough, and maybe even too frozen, but I was looking forward to trying the chocolate and hoped it would be my new favorite simple go-to sweet snack.
So, I proceed to try it. My expectations were pretty high because I thought how bad it could be, it’s just peanut butter and chocolate. However, the second I took a bite, I was very disappointed. I thought to myself, Why is this so gross? I don’t know what was wrong with it but, I didn’t enjoy it at all. I threw it out with disgust and disappointment.
To be completely honest, I am still not sure why they were so bad but I have decided to just stick to eating ice cream if I ever want something that’s both cold and sweet, or of course, I could simply just melt chocolate myself and simply cover the peanut butter with chocolate and freeze it. But, that’s for next time!
Have you guys ever tried freezing chocolate bars? If so, how did it turn out? What’s your go-to sweet snack? What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
This seems like a similar concept to putting thin mints in the freezer, but unlike your chocolate, frozen thin mints are delicious. I feel like your issue is not with the chocolate but with the filling. Maybe frozen mint just works and frozen peanut butter doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI find that cold chocolate is the ideal way to eat it. When it is frozen, it is too hard to bite but when it is cold, it is refreshing and does not make it rock hard. If you try refrigerating it let me know how you like it!
