Hannah Shinder- Week 4: Babysitting Is The Way To Go
At our age, don’t you love when you can make some easy money? For me, I get a feeling of joy when I see money go into my bank account. I hear so many people talking about how they make money by betting, reselling products, and more. Recently I have found a new passion, as I have been doing such an easy job and making more money than ever.
As many of you may know from one of my blog posts this year, I used to have a once-a-week job as a coach for the organization Happy Feet. I used to wake up early on Saturday mornings and work from 9-12. I did 2 seasons of this which was equivalent to 14 weeks. Even though I did make good money, I wanted to be able to sleep in on Saturdays. I decided to not do Happy Feet anymore and instead make some easy money babysitting. This allowed me to be more comfortable instead of being in the blazing hot sun every Saturday morning, and do it whenever I felt or had time to.
I have babysat many different age groups of kids and have found that each is different in its own way. Some 5-year-olds are harder to babysit than a 2-year-old and so on and so forth. Even though some parents ask me what my rate is, I usually let them make the decision. Even with this decision, it has always been more than I was making at Happy Feet. If I am being completely honest, I don’t think it is even about how much money I make, and it is more about what I enjoy doing. Do you agree or disagree and why?
