Adi Chaham week 2 : Traveling

Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed traveling but it wasn’t until the summer of 2017 that traveling became something I loved even more. Up until then, most of my family’s traveling took place in Israel, Canada, in central America, and across a few states in the United States but since the summer of 2017 (up until Corona began), my family has been trying to travel more often. During those few summers, before or after traveling to Israel, my family and I would go somewhere new for 2ish weeks. One year we went to Thailand, another year we went to Spain and the year after we traveled to Vancouver and the Rocky mountains in Canada. Then, the summer right after covid began, we were supposed to travel to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands but then, Covid began so our trip got canceled.

From the places I have been to, I learned about different cultures and ways of life. One day, I would love to travel across the world. Specifically, I want to travel to Australia, London, Italy, Paris, Switzerland, Greece, and Morocco. I believe that if you are given the opportunity to travel, do it. For me personally, traveling takes me away from my amazing life in America and teaches me  about food, culture, music, and how people live their lives in different parts of the world. Traveling, I think, is the best way to learn about places and gives you a taste of people’s lives other than yours. Traveling is also a great way to relax and take a break while exposing yourself to new experiences and lifestyles and allows you to make new memories.

However, as much as I love traveling, whenever I do travel, I start missing my home and bed after a while. Therefore, as much as I would like to travel for 6 months at a time, I don’t think I am ready for that. I would, though, like to travel after high school for the summer to a few places before going off to college. During that summer I would hope to travel to a few places in Europe so that I can take that off of my bucket list. Every year, if I have the time, I hope to travel to at least one new place to learn more about the world and take a break from my life in America.

Do you enjoy traveling? Do you think there are benefits of traveling? After we graduate, do you want to travel also?

  1. Yes I really want to travel after we graduate because I feel like it is the best way to learn so much more about yourself and the world around you. Through traveling independently and seeing the world you learn to better love this planet and yourself in the process.
