Leah Week 1 - India-Israel Industrial Research and Development and Technological Innovation Fund

India and Israel just had an eighth governing body meeting. In this meeting, the India-Israel Industrial Research and Development Technological Innovation Fund (I4F) increased their fund to 5.5 million United States dollars. 

The India-Israel Industrial Research and Development Technological Innovation Fund was established by the Department of Science and Technology of India and the Israeli Innovation Authority. This organization advances and facilitates research and development of the Indians and Israelis preferences. The goal of this organization is to make a profit off of new, creative technologies. The Global Innovation and Technology Alliance oversees and supports the India-Israel Industrial Research and Development Technological Innovation Fund. In Israel, the Israeli Innovation Authority gives the money to this organization to create these projects. 


There are three research and development projects that this fund was greatly increased to provide for, firstly in the medical field, the Internet of Things Nanosensors for Molecular Diagnostics. Secondly, a project that allows for satellite relay of information for farming and environmental data, the Internet of Things. And lastly, a product to prevent mosquitoes from pestering humans, made up of a biological solution, NoMoreMos. 


The new fund is provided in order to allow Israel to concentrate mainly on market acceptability and technical practicality. The fund will also allow for improvement of the selling of merchant products and technology. India is beginning to create new technologies and start ups with the money from this higher fund, too. 


India and Israel are specifically going to focus on telecom, farming, IT, pharmaceuticals, and national security with the fund. Focusing on the agricultural aspect of the fund, for more than ten years, the Indo-Israeli Agriculture Project has been set in place. Mango orchards have grown in Maharashtra, as well as cherry tomatoes in Haryana, thanks to the fund. 


I think that this fund is an amazing opportunity for Israel and India to create and develop useful tools that will ultimately benefit the world. Israel has been known to innovate new, beneficial products, specifically technology, so I don’t doubt that they will do the same with this fund.

  Ariella Green Week 7: The Airport      Don’t ya hate going to the airport?       I absolutely can not stand going to the airport. As I’m sure most of you know, I am very organized and like to plan out everything. When things don’t go according to the plan, it stresses me out.       Thursday morning, I assumed I would have an easy experience flying from PBI to JFK on JetBlue airlines. Little did I know, there would be many little bumps along the way that I had to deal with while trying to catch my flight.       First, we arrive at the airport at around 10:30 for our 11:45 flight.
