Solomon Holzhauer- Week 11- Basketball Season
Its basketball season, which means crazy amounts of conditioning and a crazy amount of time consumed out of my day from getting homework done. I love basketball season, working hard to become a better player, love the game, love playing other teams and the competition, don't get me wrong, but it can be so draining and theres just so much time I have out of my day. Especially because midterms are coming up and we are just a few weeks away from winter break. There is a huge amount of work given to us to get done before this first semester ends. With school, all this work, and basketball it gives me no free time during the week. I am a big lifter and always lift six times a week and because its close to the semester ending and we have a bunch of basketball games late at night and practices it gives me no choice to lift most of the week. Besides all of the time consumed with hours put into basketball it does get me physically in shape for the long run, not muscular, but in tip top heart conditioned shape, and it is fun to push myself to the limits and play the sport I love everyday. And I think it can be a good de-stresser with getting my mind off of all the other stuff going on with school and everything.
Do you do any after school activities or sports? Does it interfere with getting your work done and or takes a lot of time out of your day for some free time?
I'm currently playing soccer for the High School. Sometimes I'm just so tired after school, and I want to go home and sleep and then I remember that I have practice. Although I usually enjoy practice and especially the games.
ReplyDeleteI played tennis in 9th grade, and currently I take SAT Tutoring and piano lessons every week. It is very hard to balance my schedule with school, homework, and extracurricular activities all taking away from my limited time during the day. Unfortunately, I find that the thing that I lose the most in partaking in these activities is sleep.
