Rosalie Weiss- Week 11- The Masterpiece that is Pitch Perfect

Watch Pitch Perfect (HBO) - Stream Movies | HBO Max

God's green earth will never see a movie more brilliant than the masterpiece that is Pitch Perfect. Even a decade after its release in 2012, the jokes still hit, the plot is still gripping, and the music is still aca awesome. The musical comedy has since birthed two sequels, appropriately named Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3, making up the best trilogy ever known to man.

The most memorable part of these movies is the music. From the unforgettable covers/mashups including “Since You Been Gone”, “Titanium”, and “Magic”, to the original songs like “Cups” and the second movie’s “Flashlight”, the Pitch Perfect movies unarguably have the best soundtracks out of any movie franchise ever. Another outstanding quality of these movies is their humor. I still laugh audibly at every joke, even after hearing them numerous times. These factors make every second of these movies a work of art, but Pitch Perfect is more than just a musical comedy, as it is also a heartwarming romance and an edge-of-seat drama.

Being the owner of a pitch pipe with the ability to recite every performance from the first movie word for word, I think it is safe to say that I am the biggest Pitch Perfect fan. As the biggest Pitch Perfect fan, I encourage everyone reading this to go out and watch Pitch Perfect. It is currently streaming on HBO max, but you could probably find an illegal version somewhere! :)

What is your favorite performance from the Pitch Perfect franchise?

Comments

  1. I love pitch perfect! I love everything about Pitch Perfect from the performances, to the bus rides to Fat Amy (she is my favorite). I have probably watched each movie 2 or 3 times. The first movie is by far my favorite and the audition scene gets me giggling every time. I also really enjoy the cup song but, the auction scene is the best.

  2. I thought the Pitch Perfect movies were pretty good. I enjoyed watching them and maybe I would watch them again. However, I would not say I loved them like you do. I do really like the music from the movies. I liked the song "Cups" and I liked all the mashup songs they do. Out of the three I thought the first one was the best but the second and third movies were not bad.

  3. I love pitch perfect and my favorite performance was the original riff off. It's just a classic and all the actors looked so young. It was the place they started and discovered their voices.

  4. I really like pitch perfect. This movie checks all the boxes. It's funny, it's musical, and it keeps you engaged, always. I'm so happy there's finally a place to watch it for free.

  5. I love Pitch Perfect! I remember when I was in elementary school all of my friends would talk about it and had to practically beg my mom to let me watch it. At first she didn't let me because it was PG-13, but after a lot of nudging she finally let me. My favorite part of every Pitch Perfect movie is the riff off.
