New Computer
In seventh grade, I was given a Chromebook from my school. I used this Chromebook to only do school work, and it was fine at doing that, but only that. Since I received this computer in the seventh grade, I haven't gotten a new computer; that is until this week. I felt the urge to purchase a new computer for the sake of performance and practicality. The Chromebook was fine for doing most school work like assignments on Google docs or Google slides, but when I needed to make a video presentation or use a program, the Chromebook failed me. It didn't nearly have enough computing power to accomplish these tasks, so I felt as if I should buy a new computer for myself. I wanted something not too big, on the lighter side, minimalistic, powerful, and that could play some small games in my free time. So I went on Best Buy and started searching for the perfect laptop for me.
Firstly, I didn't want to search for something that was over $1000, because that would be way too expensive. Although I didn't want something cheap because I wanted something of quality that would last for my years throughout college. So the first thing I did was filter through the price on the Best Buy website; from $0 to $1000 dollars. Whenever I came across something that looked aesthetically pleasing, had a great price, and had strong and powerful components, I immediately looked at reviews. I kept searching and searching until I came across three fitting laptops. They were all around $900, so the price wasn't too bad, and they all had great hardware. The thing that separated them the most was the exterior. I didn't like how one of them looked because they were bulky; plus it was quite a heavy laptop, so that one was thrown out of the picture. The other two were both really amazing options though, so I had a difficult time choosing. In the end, it came to reviews, and it was clear that one of them had a better build quality (full metal v.s all plastic). So I ended up going with the one with great build quality. I am happy with my choice: MSI Delta 15. Its retail price is extremely expensive ($1600), but I got mine for an early Black Friday price of $1000.
In terms of laptops, do you prefer Windows, Mac, or something else? P.C or laptop? What do you currently own?
I do not know a lot about computers, but I personally use a Mac that I have had since 8th grade and I use it all of the time, especially for school .
ReplyDeleteHistorically I’ve always had a MAC computer, but I recently switched to a Microsoft Surface. I’m really enjoying it!
