Michael Hakim Week 11 - Moving

In around a month or so, I will be moving houses. I know a lot of the people reading this right now have never been to my house, but the house I am living in now is pretty iconic to my family. We’ve lived in this house for over 8 years, or since I was around 9 years old. That’s a pretty long time to be living in one house.

While I am really excited to move to a bigger house, it’s going to be sad leaving my current house and neighborhood. Though it’s small, there has always been something special about my current neighborhood. It’s small, peaceful, and really nice. I have also loved living in this current house. It has a very open layout and has a lot of space so that my family has room. I am sure that the next family that moves here will love it.

The next house I am moving to is much bigger than my current home. It is a two-story house and has a lot of room. It has everything we need, and is completely worth the move, as it is an upgrade in every sense. The community has a gym in it and is bigger than my current one. I am looking forward to meeting my new neighbors. I am sure that the basketball games we will have are going to be great.

Though I am a bit sad to leave, I am definitely excited to move. I can’t wait to see what new adventures await in my new neighborhood.

  1. I get that feeling from when I had to move from Florida living there for around 14 years of my life to a totally different place than Florida, New York, which is insanely cold and its especially difficult since when I moved to New York that summer I was going into my Freshman year, which is hard because it is going to highschool into a totally different new school and everyone already has their own groups of friends, since it was a small town and everyone from the highschool went to elementary school with each other.

  2. Mazal tov on the move! I've moved so often that it got boring for me to stay in one place for so long. I never had an attachment to a physical home. I find a home is special because of the people.

  3. Two years ago during the summer I went to California in order to pack up my house that I had lived in my whole entire life (15 years). It was really hard and every time I go to California I really miss that house and all the memories I had within those walls, and it makes me really sad. I'm still really hung up on the fact that I lost my childhood home, but I'm also really happy that I now have a permanent home in Florida. I just though about how its so much better to have two homes than one too!
