Maya Garaway Week 11: Semester One, Done! (almost)

When I first started writing this, I wanted to talk about my new aerial tricks and flips compared to when I began this school year, but I think this developed into more of a reflection blog post. Semester one of our junior year is almost over! Only a few weeks left and then we have a break. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that this has been a tiring semester and that there have been many changes.

Personally, I think I grew a lot this past semester, both academically and mentally. As a student, I admit, my time management is still terrible especially considering I meant to start this two hours ago. Despite that challenge, I think I have still managed to learn other important lessons. Most importantly, I stopped stressing over every small assignment. I learned to work hard and get a good grade, but not worry as much. I truly realized that one small assignment or even test will not make or break my grade. This is one of the best academic lessons that I have learned this semester. Compared to previous semesters, this semester has been the least stressful one so far and I am even in four APs!

Mentally, I believe that I have overcome many challenges. I have learned to be much more authentic. I have learned that it is important to say what you feel is important despite what someone else's reaction might be. If it's important to you, then it is important and you should not minimize that just because of someone else. I have also learned to be more relaxed. Instead of trying to push for any friendships, I have let everything happen by itself. If something is meant to be, then it will be and the people who truly care will be there with you.

A lot has happened since the summer and I believe that everyone has changed a bit. I believe that the main thing to do is just accept the change, aim to be the best version of yourself that you can be, and learn from anyone and everything.

What is something that has changed for you recently? Are there any beliefs and lessons that you believe in?
