Lindsey Maschler Week 11: Universal
Over Thanksgiving break, one of my friends since middle school and I went to universal for two days. I have not been to Universal since a couple of years before the pandemic hit, and I do not get to see my friend Dani often since we go to different schools.
Since it was the day after Thanksgiving, the parks, as well as CityWalk, were packed. The lines were over 100 minutes for a lot of them, including most of the Harry Potter rides, and their new Velocicoaster. Even the Dr. Seuss Trolly was over an hour, and in my opinion, that ride is not even good. We stayed at one of Universal’s hotels, so we got to go to the park an hour before it opened, and even then the wait time for Velocicoaster said 105 minutes, which is insane.
Universal has some special activities during the holidays, including a holiday parade that was sponsored by Macy’s, so it was just a smaller version of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, as well as a special light show on the Hogwarts Castle. There were also holiday decorations throughout the park, which we thought was very cool. Since I have not been to Universal since 8th grade, I thought it would be very different, especially because of the pandemic, but apart from a couple of rides being taken out and a couple of new ones, it was exactly the same.
Do you guys like amusement parks like Universal? What is the longest wait time you will wait for a ride?
I do like amusement parks, especially Universal because it is more leaned towards stuff I like than Disney is. To be honest, I do not know the longest I will wait for a ride, I think that would depend towards how I am feeling during that time and how much I really want to go on that ride.
ReplyDeleteI'm personally not a big fan of amusement parks, although I had fun two years ago on the Shabbaton. When you're with your friends, and walking around all day it can be very fun. The longest I've ever waited in line is probably about an hour.
ReplyDeleteI love amusement parks! I love the thrill of roller coasters and anything thats exciting! One of my favorite rides at Universal is Rip Ride Rock It and I think I have waited about an hour for it before.
ReplyDeleteI love going to amusement parks, especially Universal. My favorite ride there is the Hagrid ride, and I waited more than four hours for it during the school Shabbaton (partially due to technical difficulties). However, I would never wait that long for a ride again, instead I would probably leave the line after an hour and a half.
