Leah Week 11 - My Love of Chocolate
Anyone who knows me well knows that I love chocolate. My mom used to say that I love chocolate so much, I would “sell my soul for chocolate”.
It’s not just the actual candy chocolate that I love, but I also love anything that is chocolate flavored. For example, I love chocolate ice cream, cake, cupcakes, frosting, chocolate mousse, and so many more tasty and chocolate flavored desserts.
Even though I love chocolate so much, I don’t eat as much of it as I used to because I don’t like most American chocolates. I don’t know why, but it just seems like British and South African chocolate, such as Cadbury's, is so much tastier than American chocolate, such as Hershey’s.
However, there are a few occasional American chocolates that are actually really good. I like Ghirardelli chocolate and M&M’s, but I miss South African chocolate a lot.
I remember when I was a little child, my mom would pick me up from school everyday except Fridays. This is because on Fridays, my Dad would come to get me. Almost every Friday, he would arrive at my school with the same chocolate for me, a Wonder Bar. Wonder Bars are a stick of just plain milk chocolate, wrapped in a shiny blue paper with white stars on it. The words “Wonder Bar” also appear on the wrapper in big, white letters. Receiving that Wonder Bar on Fridays was often the highlight of my day and now, Wonder Bars bring back happy memories.
Do you love chocolate as much as I do? If you do, what kind of chocolate is your favorite?
I love chocolate, too, but usually not in cakes or other desserts, just in candies. My favorite chocolate is probably Twix or crunch bars, but if you include white chocolate I also love Hershey's cookies and cream. I haven't had chocolate outside of America or Israel, so I'll have to look for a Wonder Bar if I ever go to South Africa because they sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough chocolate. I love it so much! I have the same experience as you. When I was younger in Toronto, we'd have chocolate like Aero bars, Coffee Crisp bars, and Smarties. Those are good chocolates. They are so much tastier than the chocolates here in America. I think those would probably be my favorites, but if I had to choose one from America, it would probably be Twix, I love those.
