Ben Reihanian Week 7 - My Second Time Writing About the Sky

My Second Time Writing About the Sky

Ben Reihanian

For the past few weeks, I've been really inspired by the sky and its everchanging everlasting beauty. Driving to school every day with my mom with a new outlook on life, having gone through the treacherous covid quarantine times - now being able to go outside and go to school in person has truly opened my eyes to all facets of our very beautiful lives. When looking up at the sky, our point of view instantly changes and we can become mesmerized by its pure natural beauty. Forgetting all my current troubles and hardships, I take a moment to breathe and focus on something magnificent. With this newfound zen, I created a Snapchat private story where I exclusively post pretty pictures of the sky, whose purpose is to inspire the same fascination in whoever sees it, that I experience every day. Just look up and your entire day may change. Realize that the sun you're seeing is the same sun your ancestors saw, realize that every individual on earth is seeing it too and how it impacts every organism's life on this earth. Use that connection to ground yourself and become a better, more understanding human being.
Look up and breathe.
Look up and center yourself.
Look up and see your hardships from a different point of view.
Look up and appreciate what is hardly ever appreciated.
Look up and be grateful.
Look up and love what you see and invert that love upon yourself.

"I don't need anyone to love me, I love me"

  1. I completely agree, the sky is very pretty. I love going to the beach and watching the sunsets and cloud watching calms me down a lot.

  2. Those pictures are so pretty! I agree with your message in this post. I find it important to be able to appreciate the small things in our lives. On of my favorite times is when I can drive during sunset or even when it is completely dark outside. I find those drives very relaxing and calming.

  3. I love looking up at the sky and admiring it for its beauty. There is nothing more amazing and peaceful than looking up at the stars at night. For me, the only issue with the sky is that it reminds me too much of flying on a plane. Flying is somewhat of a fear of mine so this is not a good thing.
