Adam Sobel Week 8 - What Superpower I Would Want?
What superpower would you want if you could have any power in your imagination? Such a seemingly simple question actually would have a very complex answer, at least for me. For one thing, would I get a cool origin story similar to other heroes with that power? Would there be logical constraints that exist in the real world that would be a hindrance to the superpower? Who would I be fighting with my superpower, and would I be fighting people as the good guy or the bad guy?
If I were to choose a superpower based on their origin story, I would choose Green Lantern. Firstly, the powers themselves are limitless; you can create anything that you could come up with in your imagination, you have a direct connection to a supercomputer that fits in a ring, instant language translations, flight, and space travel. Even cooler than all of these things is the history of the Green Lantern Corps and the other Lantern Corps. The Green Lanterns are an organization almost as old as time, and they serve to protect the galaxy by dividing its members into sectors. There are also different color Corps for each emotion; red is rage, orange is avarice, yellow is fear, green is willpower, blue is hope, indigo is compassion, and violet is love. There is also a black/death corp and a white/life corp that have threatened the destruction of whole worlds. All these corps are fighting against each other, within themselves, and forming temporary alliances for the greater good. Each corps also comes with their own history, leader, and creature that demonstrates their wavelength of light. The comics and adventures are endlessly entertaining and their histories apply conflicts and stories that would be so entertaining to be a part of. I would love to serve alongside Green Lanterns to protect the galaxy and interact with other lanterns and corps, along with all of the super cool superpowers I would get as well.
However, if I had to choose a superpower based on the power itself, I would choose elasticity. I would choose it because I think it has the most uses; I could move faster, shrink and grow, change shape, size, form, and turn into other objects, people, animals, plants, etc., I couldn't be shot or cut, and I could fly, turn into a car, or swim faster than any other human. The possibilities are endless, and I could accomplish more and do it faster if I were to have elasticity. The limitless applications of this power would be why I would want to have it over any other superpower available.
What about you? What superpower would you want to have if you had the choice?

Disclaimer - This idea was already done by someone else, but I had asked for their permission before doing it myself because I thought it was a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :)
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would want to have super speed. I could go on forever why this is the best power to have, but, I am really not trying to write that much. All I have to say is it doesn't interfere with every day life things, but just improves everything, for example, very long tasks you have to get done.
ReplyDeleteIf I could have one superpower, I think I would choose to have the power of teleportation. Teleportation would allow me to go anywhere I want instantly. This power would also double as super speed, because I can go anywhere speedily, and the ability to fly, because I could teleport into the air if I wanted to. Teleportation would serve many uses and would make life much more simple and efficient.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to have a superpower I would choose to have the ability of being a genius. I would like to be as smart as Albert Einstein. This would help me get through school, get me into a good college, and then bring me to become a successful adult. I would benefit from this greatly to become a wealthy adult. I would become rich from being a smart business women.
ReplyDeleteIf I could have one superpower, I would want super speed. To be honest, having super speed isn't what attracts me to this power, it's more than I would be able to do multiple things with one power like time travel like they do in the Flash.
