Solomon Holzhauer- Week 5-Take a cold shower

     I just felt the need to blog about this concept of taking a cold shower everyday. There are so many benefits from doing this. These benefits include,  waking you up, which is good if it is early in the morning and you need to wake up, or if at night and you need to stay awake to finish homework, it increases circulation, reduces muscle soreness post-workout, potentially boosting weight loss,  and makes you have glowing hair and skin. And these are just some of the basic benefits of taking a cold shower everyday. If you are on a weight-loss journey, this is so beneficial to you, even if you are just trying to lose a few pounds. If you are an athlete, or a basketball player, you can relate to this. From all that conditioning and running you have to do every practice makes your whole body sore, so this can be very relieving. The cold water has regenerative properties, that make your muscles relax and repair after a tough workout. Now, to get on to more health issues that taking a cold shower everyday benefits, are issues like your heart rate, oxygen intake, and or alertness. This can help these issues in such a positive way. The only con of taking cold showers is if you are sick, which obviously will make it worse, and mess with your immune system.

  1. I can relate to your statement on some level. Although cold showers are sometimes relieving after working out and feeling very sore, I don’t enjoy them. I would rather take a hot shower as I feel more fresh after.

  2. It's funny I am reading this now as I just started to take cold showers for the first time. Since the school's basketball season is starting now, cold showers will help with the recovery process for workouts. I hope I see results.

  3. Okay, so I have definitely heard people touting the benefits of taking a cold shower. I know it's supposed to be great for you and all, but just... no. I like my shower so hot that most people consider it too hot. I have tried the cold shower thing, and it just made me miserable that my shower was not relaxing at all. I'm glad it works for you, though!
