My First True Miami Heat Game

Two more days. Two more days until I get to go to my first ever true Miami Heat game. I first fell in love with the game of basketball when I was in 8th grade. When I first started playing as a 14-year-old, I immediately fell in love with the sport. I spent over three hours every day playing basketball at my clubhouse courts, and I still do to this day. Once I started playing, I started watching the NBA. Of course, my favorite team was (and still is) my home team: the Miami Heat. To be honest, I've always loved the Miami Heat because I grew up with Dwyane Wade and Lebron James, but the moment I started seriously watching them is the point I would have considered myself a true fan.

Since I grew up with the Miami Heat as a 10-year-old, I have been to a couple of games in the arena, but I don't remember anything that happened. Now though, I know and love all of the players, so I will know what is going on. This Thursday (two more days), I will have my first ever true Miami Heat live experience. I will get to see Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, and many more go head-on with the former world champions, the Milwaukee Bucks. Not only is this the greatest game to go to, but it is the opening game; their first game of the season! I am so privileged and lucky to be born into my family, and I am so grateful for that.

  1. I remember my first Miami Heat game, which was also my first basketball game. I went with Michael Ben-Shushan for his 8th birthday, and I noticed then that the audience is apart of the game. As most of us can agree, it's a totally different experience to be in the arena cheering for your team with other fans. It's like everyone's fighting on the same side together. I know you will have an amazing time, and hopefully an experience you'll never forget.

  2. I feel the same way. When I first went to a Toronto Raptors game a long time ago I was less into it than when I did a few years ago. Just like you wrote, it's because my love for basketball grew as I got older and learned more about the sport. I also think that when you change teams that you root for you get a new first experience when seeing a live basketball game. I used to love the Raptors, because I am from Toronto. After the season they won, I changed my teams a bit because they weren't doing so well afterwards. I started following the Bucks more because my family and I think Giannas Antehekumpo is an amazing player. So when I saw them play, it was like another first experience because it was a whole new team and new players.
