Noah Bard - Week 6: The Chicago Bulls

It’s basketball season again, which means another intense season of NBA basketball. Last season, I was a fan of the New Orleans Pelicans, as Lonzo Ball, my favorite player, was on that team last season. However, he left the Pelicans in the off-season and signed with the Chicago Bulls, so I am now a fan of them, and man, am I happy to be.

The Bulls have started off the season exceptionally well, beating the Pistons, Pelicans, and Raptors. They have looked amazing throughout all of these games, and they are so entertaining to watch. Whether it’s Zach Lavine making his matchup look silly and swishing three-pointers in their face or Alex Caruso catching alley-oops from Lonzo, this team has been dynamic.

Even though I am technically only a fan of this team because Lonzo is on it, I am very passionate about the Bulls. The games are fun to watch, and though I’m not a die-hard NBA fan, I make sure not to miss any Bulls games. Watching the Bulls play makes me happy because Lonzo Ball, my favorite player, seems to have finally found a good home that treats him right. It appears that the Bulls are finally allowing Lonzo to unleash his full potential by way of scoring, playmaking, and defense. I’ve always known Lonzo has had this ability, as we saw his potential at UCLA.

I can’t wait for when the Bulls come to Miami this year to play the Heat. The Heat are, by far, my least favorite team in the league, and even though I don’t really have a specific reason for this, it doesn’t make watching them lose any less fun. I look forward to this matchup in Miami, as I will hopefully attend the game with my friends.

If you are an NBA fan, I highly suggest that you tune into some Bulls games from time to time. Or, if you aren’t yet an NBA fan and want a young, upcoming team to support, the Bulls are a great option. You’d better jump on the bandwagon now before we are the best team in the league.

  1. As fans it’s like you’re almost involved in these celebrities' lives. When they do really well, like score a three-pointer, it’s almost like we’ve scored that three-pointer with them. You’re inspiring me to watch a game right now.

  2. I agree completely about the Bulls this season, they are doing phenomenally well. Lonzo Ball is definitely a great player, my sister loves the NBA and she tells me all about him, and has gotten me to become a fan of him and his siblings. Why is Lonzo Ball your favorite? Is there any other reason other than that he is amazing at his job?

  3. I definitely do the same thing - follow my favorite players from team to team (except when my favorite Dolphin went to the Jets. I can never root for them). Lonzo Ball is amazing, I just wish his father were less loud and in-your-face with his comments.

  4. Bulls are my second favorite team, and I am excited to see how far they go this year with such a skillful team. Lonzo fixed his form, and has been getting buckets from the three, only good to come.

  5. I totally agree. I have been a Bulls fan my whole life because I am originally from Chicago. Seeing them beaten year after year after year is so heartbreaking and now it finally feels like we have a chance to succeed again. With Zach LaVine's confidence after playing on the Olympic team and picked as an All-Star for the first time, Alex Caruso being consistent with his buckets, Lonzo Ball being able to unleash his true talent, and Demar DeRozen just being the talented player that he is, the Chicago Bulls finally have a true shot at becoming great again!
