Hannah Shinder Week 5- How to manage time
School sports can take up a lot of time and the most important life skill to follow is time management in this case. Time management is something that I think everyone can relate to and has struggled with or is still struggling with. If it is not handled properly, then the end result will be your work won’t get done or it will be procrastinated and not done the best you could do. Along with procrastination comes being able to have a balanced schedule between extracurriculars and school work. Recently, I have had to deal with this certain struggle.
As being a member of the school volleyball team, I devote a lot of my time to this sport. We have practice every single day that there is not a game. The practices are 2 hours long after school and games on the other hand can take up a lot of the afterschool day and night. This is due to travel time and the fact that games go longer than a usual practice at our home facility.
To overcome this battle of having a balance and being flexible with my schedule, I have had to most importantly not procrastinate. Now some may say, if you have trouble then don’t play the sport. This is not the case, as I don’t have a problem getting my work done since I make schedules of what I am going to do each day and keep track of due dates to get as much as I can do when it is given.
I often struggle to manage my time, so I completely understand your struggle. It is wonderful to be involved in many things, but it can also be stressful.
ReplyDeleteIt is very difficult for me to manage time. This struggle is seen by this comment being posted at almost 11:00 pm the night before the due date. For me, I normally just try my best to divide my work up into days and decide on how many assignments I will have to do per night. This prevents me from having to rush all of my assigned work in one night.
