Ariella Green Week 6: Paper Cuts
Ariella Green Week 6: Paper Cuts
Don’t ya hate when you get some form of a paper cut?
Now, if I do say so myself, I am one of the best at getting bumps, bruises, and cuts. Most of the time I don’t even know how it happened because of how often I get hurt. I find that paper cuts are one of the most painful kinds of cuts because it’s as if you're being cut by a razor blade. It also takes paper cuts a very long time to heal, and they’re still smarting for a few days after.
This past weekend, when I was at Hebrew School, I was in the middle of handing my students the mini white boards. As I was passing them out, one of the edges nicked my right hand middle finger. (Of all fingers by the way!) This cut is still bothering me for over 4 days. It does not help that the cut is in the worst possible place because I have to use my right hand to do everything.
Also, about a few years ago, I was helping my mother pack packages. As I was closing the legal flat rate envelope, it cut me! I can assure I was not holding the package incorrectly, it just was not my day. I think I am one of the very few people who can say they've been cut by a package.
I really wonder how and why everyday “safe” objects can turn unsafe in the matter of seconds. I mean doesn’t anyone else find it strange that paper products can act as razors?
What are your thoughts about paper cuts? How painful would you rate them based on a scale of 1-10? (10 being the most painful)
I definitely agree with you, paper cuts are so small and you barely noticeable when you get them, but afterwards, they are very painful. I have gotten them a lot but I used to get them very often when I was a child.
ReplyDeletePaper cuts are 2/10 painful. They aren't that bad at first but after while they just get annoying.
ReplyDeletePaper cuts are so frustrating! I tend to be clumsy as well so I completely understand how annoying it can be to randomly find a new paper cut on your hand.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I can't remember a time when I ever got paper cuts. However, how you describe them makes them sound very frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI haven't got a paper cut in a while, but, the pain varies on how bad you cut yourself with the paper, but, usually the pain is around 2/10 like Rosalie said.
ReplyDeletePaper cuts are bad because it always takes a few seconds for it to start hurting, so you think "whew! I didn't get a paper cut even though the edge slid across my fingers!" and then... BAM! I am super clumsy, so I get paper cuts more often than I'd like. Worse than paper cuts, though, are cardboard cuts!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's necessarily the pain the makes the paper cuts so bad, but the annoyingness. There's nothing worse than going to grab something and realizing there's a cut that hurts more than falling off a jet ski into a shark's mouth on the surface of your finger.
