Avital Horowitz Blog 2 - The Windy City to the Sunny State
My journey of moving to Florida from Chicago was quite a roller coaster ride to say the least. There was so much going on during my very long and dragged transition from the Windy City to the Sunny State. It all started in November of 2020. My parents wanted to go on vacation and stay in Florida for two months, so they could get a lay of the land and hopefully find a house to move into. Little did my sisters and I know that they decided not to go back home when we were on the way there.
We ended up hopping from hotel to hotel and basically driving around Boca like crazy people with our car filled to the brim on the verge of exploding. In January we moved into a brand new apartment building. It was so new that my family was literally the only family that lived there. The only problem with the apartment was that it was extremely tiny. We were only planning on living in it for about a year, but it was just way too small for our liking. We ended up lasting for literally eleven days. That's it. Eleven days and we were out.
After two very painful and stressful months of kind of being homeless, we finally moved into a townhouse in Montoya Circle. We have been living there since January and are moving out once our house is finished in a different community complex. Although my transition from Chicago to Boca Raton was challenging, I am enjoying my new life in Florida and look forward to what is to come.

That is a crazy experience! I'm glad you finally have a home being built and a nice place to stay while you wait. We are glad your family decided to move to Florida! :-)
