Hannah Shinder Week 1- Eagles Volleyball is back!

    Is this the moment that everyone in the eagles community has been waiting for? Volleyball season is here! Since we are the first sport of the school year, we started a week before actual school began. We have been working hard as a team during preseason to be prepared for this season. This includes us doing a lot of conditioning to test our abilities as players and has also consisted of a tryout to see who would be one the team. On the team we have 13 girls and we had to cut more than ever before. It was almost like Donna Klein history to have to cut so many people from a team. On the court there are 6 people on at a time and each person plays their own position. Since we are so close to the season beginning, we are currently having dilemmas, figuring out who will play each position based upon their skill level. The only challenge that we have been faced with is having to teach teammates the basics of volleyball in order to understand the game. At a high school level, the coach had expected for us to already know and be familiar with the rules and how to play, instead of teaching it to us when our first game is so soon. Don’t worry, we can put the challenge to the plate and be ready to compete and win. That's the whole point of volleyball! It is to encourage your teammate on and off the court and have fun! We are having our first game on September 2nd away vs Grandview, but our first home game is vs SLAM at 5:15. Come out and support!

    Maybe, if I have time, I will be there to watch a game. Hopefully this year's team is as good as the team that went to the State Final Four all those years ago!

    I have never been to a volleyball game but I would definitely consider watching one! I don't play a sport through this school yet so I am unfamiliar with how it works. I never knew people were cut from high school sports like how it is on the volleyball team, that is crazy!

  Ariella Green Week 7: The Airport      Don’t ya hate going to the airport?       I absolutely can not stand going to the airport. As I’m sure most of you know, I am very organized and like to plan out everything. When things don’t go according to the plan, it stresses me out.       Thursday morning, I assumed I would have an easy experience flying from PBI to JFK on JetBlue airlines. Little did I know, there would be many little bumps along the way that I had to deal with while trying to catch my flight.       First, we arrive at the airport at around 10:30 for our 11:45 flight.
